I am sure you have heard about the “Law of Attraction” especially with the recent widespread success of The Secret movie.

It is true that the Law of Attraction is the fundamental principle for creating wealth in your life.  It has been taught for over a century in books and in the classic teachers of wealth such as Napoleon Hill (Think and Grow Rich) and Wallace D. Wattles (Science of Getting Rich).

What is not so obvious is how to practically apply and use this Law of Attraction to actually manifest wealth or anything else desired in life. This is the real challenge and is the main reason most people fail to successfully apply this law in their lives.

As an analogy- If you wanted to learn how to play golf, you can read about every aspect of playing golf in endless sources from proven experts in the field.  Masters teach every detail such as how to grip your club and what your stance should be.  Resources cover both the physical and the mental side of the sport.  Here is the thing- if you read every book and watched every golf video, but you never actually go out and practice what you learned, you will not master golf.

Secondly, even if you do get out there and start applying what you know you need to do to become great at playing golf, you are not going to be a golf pro your second time out. Mastering golf requires consistent and persistent practice. . .  but, if you focus on it and make it a goal- there will come a day where you master the sport and you are able to achieve scores you never thought were possible.

This is the same approach you need to take to create wealth in your life.  You need to understand the Law of Attraction and learn methods and processes for applying it in your life.  Then, you need to practice these methods.

For some, the ability to believe in something and to do things on a daily basis to make the belief of what you want “second nature” is quite easy.  For others, this is difficult.  But anyone can do it.  First thing you should do is to start reading and listening to wealth teachers and those who do and are learning to manifest their realities.  There are many different approaches taken by those who teach wealth creation.  Find one or two that resonate with you. Then, follow them and learn from them.

Second, apply wealth principles and the methods you learn in our daily life- start with little things to manifest.  Every time it works, this will help your belief and you can apply it to bigger things. Once it starts working to create what you want in life, it becomes a lot easier and works much faster. So, do not try it immediately for big things- start with little things and build your way up.  If I go back to my golf analogy, start off with the goal of manifesting that you will make contact with the ball at the tee.  Once that happens, you manifest that you will hit your drives 100 yards. . . then 200, etc.  Do the same thing with manifesting your dreams.

The Law of Attraction is a “LAW” – it works every time and it is working in your life right now to create your reality.  So, you already are manifesting.  The key is to control the manifestation to create wealth, abundance, freedom and the things you want as opposed to the things you fear or worry about.

I hope the posts and commentary on this site can give you a head start on how to manifest wealth in your life.

My Grandmother’s Secret Tip to Wealth

My grandmother is 93 years old.  She has lived quite a normal life and even a bit of a frugal life. BUT, she has never had to rely on anyone to help her financially.  She owns her own small home, pays for her own food, doctor bills, and she travels when she can.

The interesting thing about my grandmother is that she has not worked in a job for the past 40 years and never made a lot of money before (she was a teacher in a different country) – always supporting herself.  Her own children are in awe and question how she does this.

One day about 10 years or so ago, while visiting her, I asked her how she does this?  She looked left and then right to make sure no one else was listening.  Then she leaned over and whispered to me her secret.
She said she always took a little bit of whatever money came her way and put it in a special account.  She said sometimes it would only be $2 or 3 dollars but she did this consistently.  Any money that came into her hands- whether it was money she made or gifts she received, she would pay herself first.

It did not matter that she owed a lot of debt or had to pay a lot of bills.  It did not matter that she was paying interest on loans.  By paying herself first, she was telling the universe that she deserved the first dollar of any money that came to her.

I have taken her advice on this and it has created many possibilities for me.  Just the account itself is now worth bragging about- but the act of doing this consistently has also created the right energy to bring other magical financial blessings in my life exactly when they were needed.

This concept may not make sense to Suzie Orman or your financial adviser who may advise you to put your money elsewhere.  It is not a sensible or logical suggestion but a spiritual one- by doing this you telling the world that you deserve this and the world responds by looking for more to give to you.

Try it- if it is too difficult for you to think about sparing any extra money because it needs to go to necessities or other obligations, just start with a dollar each week. .  then raise it to $3 a week. . . and keep going.  The key to this habit is to do it consistently and do it for a period of time until it becomes a habit.  Do not worry on the other obligations- the universe will provide you with the ways to handle those in an unexpected manner.

As far as my grandmother, she is not “rich” in that she has millions of dollars (but who knows how much she was able to stash away- it is still a secret) but she is wealth in many ways.  She has been healthy and independent and able to do things and spend time with her children, grandchildren and now great grandchildren.  She has many loyal friends. She has been active enough to travel and see many places.  And, most important to her, she  gets to spend time in her garden planting flowers and vegetables.

I have found that most wealth teachers fall into one of three categories: (i) ones who teach habits which require intensity, persistence and focus (people like Anthony Robins); (ii) ones who teach habits based on spiritual laws and scientific principles; and (iii) ones who teach specific means and methods of acquiring wealth (e.g., Kiyosaki).

All three areas have proven to work and all have quite strong followings. You will find that one of the three areas or even sub-areas within an area will make more natural sense to you and you will gravitate towards those teachings. I did; however, my interest in learning all about this topic also led me to learn and master all three as best I can.

The one which makes sense to me deep down and is the easiest and most natural to apply is #2- the spiritual laws based teaching. These are based on wealth being an entitlement to all human beings and that the acquiring or wealth and manifestation of what you want in your life should be an EASY and ENJOYABLE process – an enlightened journey available to everyone.

There are a lot of effective wealth teachers focusing on spiritual laws but one of the best is a man by the name of Dr. John DeMartini. This guy and his life story are amazing. He is quite intense as a person and he actually has an odd look to him (though I have found that many of the wealth teachers have similar odd/ weird looks to them: Robert Anthony, Bob Proctor, Harv Eker).

But his teachings are so effective. If you want to get a feel for how he speaks and teaches, visit his website: www.drdemartini.com and listen to some of his talks for free. He has some courses that are quite expensive. I always recommend that you read a book by a wealth author first to be sure you resonate with the person. It is not worth spending lots of money and more importantly your precious time on longer programs and resources unless you first have and feel a connection to the author.

This stuff is non-sensical and even “strange” to the average person. Finding the right teachers is the most important first step to this journey. Dr. Demartini and his unique view of acquiring wealth clicked with me from the first time I read one of his books.

If you are focusing on acquiring financial freedom as a means to wealth, I recommend his book “How to Make One Hell of a Profit and Still Get to Heaven.” Yes, cheesy title, but the book is a very interesting read. The key point is proving that attaining wealth is not evil but rather your right and is actually the path toward living your most inspired dreams and contributing greatly to this world.
He teaches about the natural conflicts of the wealth-uneducated. Conflicts like being rich and poor, altruistic and materially evil, giving and receiving, selfish and selfless. An essential step to creating wealth is addressing and resolving any of these internal conflicts and his stories, reasoning and lessons will do that for you in a magical way.

You will be enlightened by this book and learn how to tap into the highest of spiritual and financial laws. You will learn some surprising but profound principles. Many of his students claim transformation after attending one of his popular events (which include ones not just on wealth but on living a content life generally (his famous one is the Breakthrough Experience). While I have not attended a Break Through Experience – I did read his book about it- another great book on teaching essential principles for living a fulfilling and peaceful life.

You can learn more about either of the two books on his website or on Amazon.com: How To Make One Hell Of A Profit and Still Get In To Heaven

One reason most people do not live wealthy lives is because they think that the world owes them something. In fact, most people will not give anything unless they get something first. This one incorrect way of thinking can be the different between phenomenal wealth and unhappiness and poverty.

There are many wealth authors who teach about the importance of “giving” first. But one person who does a great job of teaching this and who has the success to prove these principles work is Bob Burg. He wrote a book called Go-Giver and it sets forth a unique way of teaching 5 key “giving” laws about giving. If you master these and keep them in mind in your daily decisions, you will see significant wealth improvements.

THE LAW OF VALUE: You will be wealthy if you consistently give more in value than you take in payment. Always focus on what value you are providing and not as much on what you are receiving. When choosing a path to wealth, choose something that allows you to add real value to this world.

THE LAW OF COMPENSATION. The more people you serve the more wealthy you will be. When I say “serve” I mean serve well by providing them with something that adds value and can make a difference, no matter how small, in their lives.

THE LAW OF INFLUENCE: You create influence by placing other people’s interest first. This does not mean abuse yourself but it means that if you take the first step in doing a favor or helping out someone, spiritual abundance will be returned to you and likely in multi-fold.

THE LAW OF AUTHENTICITY: The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself. When determining how you can contribute unique value (as a path to wealth), make sure you choose something that you honestly feel is right for you and that will provide unique value to others.

THE LAW OF RECEPTIVITY: In order to acquire wealth, at some point, you need to receive and be willing to receive. Giving is only part of the story which leads to receiving. People who only take and take, never end up with true wealth. Likewise, people who just give and give, end up unhappy and unfulfilled. Imagine yourself receiving those gifts and experiences that you define as wealth. Give and receive!

Two Essential Elements for Acquiring Wealth

After years of studying wealth principles, I noticed that many resources or teachers out there focus on teaching just one topic about wealth creation. This topic can be the wealth mindset or training your mind properly (e.g., Think and Grow Rich or the latest popular DVD- The Secret), or the topic can include actual ways to acquire wealth such as investing programs, or real estate courses or starting different businesses.

I have found the area of wealth mindset and learning how to train your brain and your way of thinking as the most interesting area of wealth creation and the most complex to master. This is because the human mind is so complex and you are dealing not only with the conscious mind but the subconscious mind. However, training your mind properly for wealth is ESSENTIAL to long term wealth creation. For some, this comes naturally while for others, it requires a lot of learning and discipline- but it is possible for everyone.

Wealth Mindset is 90% of the game but the reason that the wealth mindset is not enough is that every person needs to have an area to really apply the wealth mindset and principles- a vehicle for wealth creation. Knowledge alone is not enough- the knowledge must be applied day in and day out.

This second area of wealth creation is finding that unique way to apply the wealth mindset. It is also important because this area as well is unique to each person. Ultimately, I think each person has a reason for being in this world- a purpose that relates to how you can uniquely contribute to this world. It can be on a small scale such as contribution to your family or within your local community or on a large scale affecting larger communities or even the world in some instances.

Do not fall into the mistake of so many, where they buy in to the claims of get rich quick schemes and easy businesses to build for profit- unless you have a true passion for the underlying business and it is a legitimate way to provide value to this world. You only acquire wealth through the concept of fair exchange. There is no such thing as a free lunch.

Also, even if you know what you have passion for and have in mind a vehicle for wealth creation, make sure that you have learned the proper way of thinking while you are on that journey. Without it, wealth success will be an incredible challenge and one in which most fail until they learn.
Hopefully, in my blog, the magic or understanding and applying the secrets and teachings that fall under both of these two requirements will make the path to wealth so much more fun and satisfying.
