Create Wealth Requires That You Are Willing to Receive

Many wealth creation teachers discuss the importance of giving to others on your journey to wealth.  Giving always leads to something great coming back to you.  But, I do not want to talk about the giving aspect of wealth creation.

Instead I want to focus on the RECEIVING aspect of wealth.  If you want something. . . whether it be money, a certain possession or even to get a raise or promotion, acquire a skill or appreciation from someone, you must be willing to receive it.

Many of us (myself included) have this habit of feeling guilty when something comes our way that seems like a gift or a one way benefit.  For example, when someone pays you a compliment, do you just accept and acknowledge it, say thank you and allow yourself to . . . , or do you feel uncomfortable or make comments that downplay the compliment effectively- giving it back?

Or, if someone out of the blue (meaning not on your birthday or some occasion where gifts are expected) offers to give you something just for the sake of giving it to you, do you willingly take it and appreciate the gift given or do you feel negative feelings like you now owe that person something . . . or you try to give it back because you subconsciously think you do not deserve it?

If you do these things, even on small levels, first become away of them.  Second, you must change these reactions.  The next time you get something that is unexpected and seemingly un-earned, accept it wholeheartedly, feel good that the universe has given you something, and love yourself enough to know that this is being given because you deserve it.

When you start changing your attitude about receiving, you open yourself up to receiving more.  Try it out first on small things and then start thinking and saying to yourself, that you deserve and accept [whatever it is you desire].  You will see that good and desired things, will start coming your way.  Work your way up to bigger things!
