Two Essential Elements for Acquiring Wealth

After years of studying wealth principles, I noticed that many resources or teachers out there focus on teaching just one topic about wealth creation. This topic can be the wealth mindset or training your mind properly (e.g., Think and Grow Rich or the latest popular DVD- The Secret), or the topic can include actual ways to acquire wealth such as investing programs, or real estate courses or starting different businesses.

I have found the area of wealth mindset and learning how to train your brain and your way of thinking as the most interesting area of wealth creation and the most complex to master. This is because the human mind is so complex and you are dealing not only with the conscious mind but the subconscious mind. However, training your mind properly for wealth is ESSENTIAL to long term wealth creation. For some, this comes naturally while for others, it requires a lot of learning and discipline- but it is possible for everyone.

Wealth Mindset is 90% of the game but the reason that the wealth mindset is not enough is that every person needs to have an area to really apply the wealth mindset and principles- a vehicle for wealth creation. Knowledge alone is not enough- the knowledge must be applied day in and day out.

This second area of wealth creation is finding that unique way to apply the wealth mindset. It is also important because this area as well is unique to each person. Ultimately, I think each person has a reason for being in this world- a purpose that relates to how you can uniquely contribute to this world. It can be on a small scale such as contribution to your family or within your local community or on a large scale affecting larger communities or even the world in some instances.

Do not fall into the mistake of so many, where they buy in to the claims of get rich quick schemes and easy businesses to build for profit- unless you have a true passion for the underlying business and it is a legitimate way to provide value to this world. You only acquire wealth through the concept of fair exchange. There is no such thing as a free lunch.

Also, even if you know what you have passion for and have in mind a vehicle for wealth creation, make sure that you have learned the proper way of thinking while you are on that journey. Without it, wealth success will be an incredible challenge and one in which most fail until they learn.
Hopefully, in my blog, the magic or understanding and applying the secrets and teachings that fall under both of these two requirements will make the path to wealth so much more fun and satisfying.

Rich Does NOT Mean Wealth

There are many many RICH people in this world.  When I say rich I mean people with lots of money and material assets.  There are a lot less “wealthy” people based on my definition of wealth.  To me, WEALTH is life freedom and contentment.  Wealth is the ability to live a meaningful and peaceful life based on your own definition of what that entails.

Money is only one part of the wealth equation.  Don’t get me wrong.  I am the first to tell you that after years of studying and learning about wealthy people, money is an important part of the puzzle.  But money is the result of learning how to be wealthy- it is not the goal.  An important lesson I learned early on is that if you focus on money when trying to become wealthy- you are starting down a long and frustrating path.  There are easier ways. . . The first tip I can give is to think about what you would do or have with money- whether it be spending more time with family, going on meaningful vacations, buying a house you are proud to call home, helping with certain charitable causes, building your own businesses or writing a book.  It is these dreams and goals that should drive your desire for wealth.
